Kubernetes Advanced Workshop
We will be looking in detail at what are Pods in Kubernetes, how they differ from a Container, and how to persist data in Pods. You will also learn what the controller concept in Kubernetes is. Since Kubernetes provides Pods for handling containers, why are there different controllers for deploying applications on Kubernetes like Deployments, StatefulSets & Daemonsets? We will be looking at them, the differences between them, and how can we persist data using each of them.
Content & Process
Kubernetes is quite complex for beginners, and requires significant expertise to operate in production efficiently. With increasing demand of Kubernetes in the industry, and the changing ecosystem, it can be an issue to understand Kubernetes on your own. Also building the skill set can be quite time taking, and developers without any Ops experience may be daunted by the orchestration platform. The Boot Camp provides developers a strong foundation on getting started with Kubernetes. You will not only get familiar with the concepts of Kubernetes architecture, but also get to know the production way of deploying applications on Kubernetes.
This will be an interactive workshop, where the presenter will be doing everything hands-on and the participants can log onto the Kubernetes dashboard and access the Kubernetes cluster and view the results. All the labs will be in a public repository, if attendees want to do them on their own, they can after the session.
Audience & Requirements
There are no such requirements from participants, a basic knowledge of Containers is appreciated. No setup needs to be done by participants, they will be given credentials to the K8s dashboard and can login and read from the cluster during the workshop.
