Continuous Deployment to Kubernetes with GitLab CI
After the first steps with containers have been taken, you might want to bring your application clean, stable and continuous into a production environment. In his session at the DevOpsCon 2019, Alexander Trost shows how GitLab CI can be used to continuously deploy applications on Kubernetes.
After a short introduction to GitLab’s Kubernetes Cluster feature, Alexander Trost shows how Pull Request Review are done on GitLab and gives an insight in how to use GitLab CI for providing applications on Kubernetes.
Alexander Trost works as a DevOps Engineer at Cloudibility and is a Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA). His Kubernetes knowledge is espeically coming from bare-metal environments (“Private Cloud”), as he is running some private Kubernetes clusters. He is involved in Open Source projects, amongst other things he is a maintainer of the Rook.io Project und other smaller Projects, for example a Prometheus exporter for Dell Hardware (Dell OMSA Metrics). Besides Containers and Kubernetes, he knows his way around Continuous Integration (with GitLab CI), Software Defined storage and Golang.
